Our comprehensive CPR, AED, & First Aid training follows all the current guidelines of the American Heart Association. You can rest assured that you're receiving the most up to date training by certified instructors. Our courses feature same day certification and our wide course curriculum includes classes such as HeartSaver CPR, AED, First Aid in addition to BLS, PALS, & ACLS.

Healthcare Professional Certification Courses
First Response Advantage Inc. offers open enrollment classes everyday in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) , Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and much more. These courses are designed to update your professional skills and upon completion you will obtain a 2 year nationally accredited American Heart Association certification card. American Heart Association certification courses satisfy the OSHA and JACHO policies in all healthcare facilities (ECC and OSHA 1910.1030(g)(2)) Our instructors consist of MDs, PAs, RNs, and EMTs and work in the medical field. Their knowledge and work experience make our classes educational and enjoyable. Hotel, Bar and Restaurant, and Theatre Safety Courses
Protecting your business and protecting individuals who come to your facility are essential. First Response Advantage Inc can help you prepare for any given emergency. We will teach you and your staff the skills needed to take care of individuals who may need first aid or may need CPR and an AED. The National Conference of State Legislatures “requires places of public assembly to maintain an AED and have at least one employee trained in use of an AED” (NY AR 1184 of 2008). Our American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid with CPR and AED course is customized and designed for anyone with little or no medical training and is taught in a stress free and fun environment. On-site CPR courses are offered 7 days a week (5 people minimum) and course scheduling is based on your needs. We have trained individuals from the Ritz Carlton Hotel, 40/40 Club in NYC, Hilton and more.

Health and Fitness, Golf Course, and Pool Safety Certification Courses and Programs
NYS law “requires health clubs with a membership of 500 or more to have at least one AED” (A 5084) . First Response Advantage Inc implements Public Access Defibrillator Programs (PAD) which satisfy the Dept. of Health requirements. We also offer the AHA Heartsaver CPR with AED certification course which fulfills CPR certification requirements for health and fitness workers. We have taught thousands of personal trainers employed by the New York Sports Club, Equinox, David Barton, and many other gyms. We have also trained individuals from health spas, health clubs, gymnasiums, weight control centers, and martial arts and self-defense schools. Assembly Bill 3798, sponsored by Assembly member Mike Spano, amended the state’s general business law to require that AEDs be available at health clubs, dental office, and swimming facilities during business hours when the facilities are staffed and Governor Cuomo signed the bill into law. First Response Advantage will certify you and your staff so your facility will be in compliance with the current NYS laws.

Childcare Provider Courses
When parents leave their children with caregivers, they want to make sure that their children are in safe hands. Childcare providers must be comfortable in their ability to react in an emergency situation. First Response Advantage will teach you the necessary skills you need to keep children who are in your care safe and healthy. The AHA Heartsaver First Aid and CPR with AED certification course is designed for individuals who might need to respond to adult or pediatric first aid emergencies (due to job or regulatory requirements) and is designed to meet regulations for childcare centers. According to NYS laws, childcare providers are required to have a valid First Aid and CPR with AED certification (Law: State of NY 3644). Our classes are very informative, interesting, enjoyable and most important, accurate! We will teach you the steps of how to prevent hazards with an emphasis on infant and child safety and how to manage injuries or illness until professional help arrives.

School and College Certification Courses
Educational Institutions are required by law to have an AED on site. Law: NY 8779 of 2002 states that “all school sponsored activates have at least one AED trained staff person present”. First Response Advantage offers courses that teach Residential Hall Staff and Directors, Faculty, Health Center Staff and student’s life saving skills. We teach individuals how to manage the first few minutes of any emergency while they wait for help to arrive. We will provide on-site training for you and your staff and we also conduct daily classroom courses. First Response Advantage is the official training site for the CUNY Kingsborough College Healthcare Professional Institute and Mandl School, College of Allied Health. We have also trained individuals from the NYU College of Nursing, SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, the American Academy of Personal Training (AAPT), Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School and we continue to support educational growth and enhancement.

Certification Courses for Security Guards and Law Enforcement
Security guards and law enforcement have the knowledge and skills it takes to enforce public safety and safety during commercial, residential, retail and entertainment activities. On any given day, any emergency can arise. First Response Advantage empowers you by teaching you the skills needed to respond to any emergency. Our AHA instructors are professional, precise, and dynamical and also work for the NYPD , FDNY, US Coastguard, and Homeland Security. They know what it takes to get the job done and they bring their work experiences to the classroom to make our courses very interactive. First Response Advantage Inc is the official training site for the US Coast Guard and currently work directly with several security guard schools. Automated External Defibrillator Programs
Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a condition in which the heart stops beating suddenly and unexpectedly due to a malfunction in the heart's electrical system. The only effective treatment for SCA is to deliver an electrical shock using a device called a defibrillator (to de-fibrillate the heart). Without immediate treatment from a defibrillator, 90-95% of SCA victims will die. Chapter 510 of the Laws of 2004 and Part 303 of Title 9 of the NYCRR, the State of New York requires all public institutions and buildings of the state, including leased facilities, to be equipped with automatic external defibrillators (AEDs). First Response Advantage Inc in compliance with the Department of Health (DOH) Bureau of Emergency Medical Services regulations can implement a Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) program for your facility. It’s easy and stress free, we will manage your PAD program by registering your customized PAD program with the DOH and a local EMS, train you and your staff the proper use of an AED during CPR , keep in contact with your medical director on a regular basis, and maintain all AEDs at your facility.

Family and Community Courses
American Heart Associations’ primary mission is to reduce the risks associated with stroke and coronary heart disease. AHA states that about 80 million adults in the US have at least one type of heart disease. We at First Response Advantage Inc promote building healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and actively teach individuals the necessary skills needed to respond in an emergency. Our Family & Friends CPR course is offered to individuals who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. This course is ideal for new parents, grandparents, caregivers, students and others interested in learning how to save a life. We cover many topics including Hands-Only CPR; Adult CPR; Child CPR; Infant CPR; Adult, Child, and Infant AED use; and Adult, Child and Infant choking relief. First Aid skills are also covered. We have trained hundreds of family members and communities since 2001 and strive to reach as many people as possible.
